Porn: You're Doing it Wrong

*** disclaimer:  I WILL be talking about (whispers...) sex in this post.  Proceed at your own risk. ***

My BFFF and I were having an inbox discussion about things that we found porn-y that were not porn (ie:  things that get us hot that are not your typical bow-chicka-wow-wow things.  Further, bow-chicka-wow-wow rarely works for me, but that might be a post for another day, like, when I am 80 and I really don't give a shit about what I write or, who reads it.)

My friend says that Charlie Hunnam punching out Robert Pattinson would do it for her.  My answer to her about that is where I got this post title.

"Porn:  You're Doing it Wrong".

I mean, sure.  I was totally rooting for the werewolf in Twilight.  And this is coming from someone who LIKES vampires.  At least, I used to, until Hollywood got ahold of them in recent years.  Christopher Lee as Dracula?  Yes, please.  Tom Cruise as Lestat?  Dear God, no.

And yes, I realize that Interview with the Vampire came out in 1994.  1994 IS recent when you are old.

Maybe if that Twilight werewolf had had a smidgen of acting ability, it would have been a little porn-y for me.  Alas, the in-my-head, book version of Jacob was way hotter.  Yes, I read the books.  So, who I am to judge anything?

I find it more-than-mildly porn-y listening to Jason Statham's Cockney sarcasm.  It doesn't hurt that he is nice to look at, though, not what you would call classically good looking.

mmm...

This all started because I mentioned that they were making a Magic Mike 2.  I mean, I get that Channing Tatum is cute AND a good dancer, but I don't find male strippers, even ones that look like

Channing Tatum

and Joe Manganiello,

attractive.  Okay, maybe I said that wrong.  They are attractive, but I don't find stripping and dancing around in g-strings to be a turn on.  I really don't need to see that thing flapping around in my face.

 Seriously.

Penises are like little aliens attached to men's fronts.  They seem have minds of their own and I find that unnerving.

There are plenty of parts of the male body that I find attractive, but that thing?  Yeah, it's just a tool, for me.  Get to work and quit waving it around.  Yes, I see it.  God.

Then, we got on the subject of another movie coming out:  Fifty Shades of Grey.
I could never write a review as hilariously accurate as this one, so I will link to it.  I have probably read it fifty (har har!) times and it makes me cry with glee every, single, time.

Suffice it to say that I did not find those books, scratch that, BOOK, since I only got through about six chapters of the first one before I started skimming, to be a turn on, at all.  I did find them silly and annoying, though.  I kept texting the BFFF things like:  "Is she for real?"  "Oh, yes, a 21 year old virgin.  That's believable" and on and on until I finally threw the book across the room.
Maybe I am a snob.  Maybe I am a prude (not likely, but sure.).  Maybe I just don't get the attraction.  Maybe I just don't like smarmy guys who think money can buy everything.  Maybe I don't identify with weak women.  Maybe the whole thing just went over my head and yanking a woman's tampon out is super, wildly, sexy.

Maybe.

But, I doubt it.

Part of me is wondering if this is going to become like The Rocky Horror Picture Show and people are going to bring tampons to the theater to throw at the screen.  THAT, I would pay to see.  Actually, I might just start that trend.

Anyway, if you hear me snickering in the back row, try and ignore me and remember, it's what you think that counts, not me...(weirdo).

What the duck?

I have never watched Duck Dynasty, apart from catching the commercials for a few seconds as I changed channels.  I thought it was amusing that guys like "that" were so popular, but I kind of chalked it up to the train wreck mentality that seems to have taken over popular television.  I thought it was a little weird when I saw Duck Dynasty pj's in the kids' department, but again, whatever.  I didn't pay much attention.

I figured they were harmless.

After the brouhaha that has erupted over the remarks that Phil Robertson (yeah, I had no idea who that was, either) made in an interview, A&E suspended him.  Read or watch his remarks here.

While his musings are hateful and repugnant, I am less offended by them then by the cries from his supporters saying that his First Amendment rights were violated.  Um, what?  I am no Constitutional expert, but I am pretty sure there is nothing in the First Amendment that says you can say whatever you want in an interview without being fired by the television station you work for.  I could be wrong.

A&E is perfectly within their rights to suspend him over things he says if they feel that they reflect poorly on their station.  Maybe they should have given more thought to their programming ahead of time, but that is neither here nor there.  You can get fired from ANY job if you publicly say something potentially damaging to your employer.

And guess what, America?  Being a homophobe DOES reflect poorly and it DOES damage A&E's reputation with a majority of their audience.  Most people don't tolerate hate speech very well.

Even more offensive are the supporters saying how Godly he is for his views; how sad that he is being persecuted for following the teachings of the Bible.

Again, what!?!?

How, pray tell, is it "Godly" to spew hate?  As with the Constitution, I am no expert in translating the Bible, but I do know that there is enough conflicting jibberish wisdom in there to contradict any notion that "God hates fags" (to use a catchy phrase from one of the Westboro Baptist Churches favorite signs).

I logged into Twitter just before starting this post and typed in Phil Robertson, which was trending.  Since then, about thirty minutes ago, there have been 352 tweets (and counting) with his name in them.  Shockingly, and to my point of view, scarily, many of these SUPPORT him.  Some are just in support of his right to say whatever he wants, which I would also agree with, but many are just to the right of seriously coo coo crazy.

Unsurprisingly, Sarah Palin has come out here to defend him, blasting A&E for their "attack on his First Amendment rights".  Bobby Jindal and Ted Cruz also tweeted about it.  Yawn.
I mean, these guys need to pander to the scary to get votes, so I take what they say with a grain of salt.

It's the tweets by the "regular" people that really scare me;  the ones that think this is all a conspiracy to distract from Obamacare.  The ones that are trying to make a martyr out of this grizzled duck hunter for his racist and homophobic views are terrifying.  "He's being persecuted for being godly" shouts one.  "Thank you for standing up for your beliefs" says another.

Yikes.

I will support anyone's right to say whatever it is they want, but (and this is a BIG BUT) if you are spreading hate, you'd better be ready to take the heat.  I don't tolerate speech that could potentially cause harm to anyone and I will let you know it.  If a company like A&E feels your words could damage them in any way, of course it is in their rights to stop giving you a platform.  In taking away the ignorant soapbox that this guy found for himself, A&E is sticking up for tolerance, that is all.

I can only hope that the immediate and loud voice that the LGBT community used to shut him down will join those that come to the aid of individuals with intellectual disabilities.  People with developmental delays seem to be the last stand for hate speech.  I have your backs, now please have mine and my kid's.  If you won't tolerate it for yourself, or your community, PLEASE don't tolerate it for others.

It's Getting Weird in Here - Amy's Brain; Part One Zillion

What is up with men who feel the need to compare some kind of pain they have had to childbirth?  Are they seriously bothered that a woman might be tougher than them in this arena?  Like they don't have enough power already?   You know, like making more money and holding more elected offices (by a lot);  they also need to win the "pain threshold contest"?  How insecure do you have to be to think like this?  I bet they are not challenging former POW's to a pain contest.  "Oh, bamboo under the nails?  That's nothing.  I had a kidney stone, once."  Please.  Get a life.

Oh, and kidney stone guy?  Guess what?  Women can get those, too!  But, you will never be pregnant.  You will never carry what amounts to a giant parasite in your body for nine months before passing it through the most sensitive part of your body and then breastfeed it for twelve months afterwards.  It will never happen.

Don't even get me started on mastitis and how it feels like pulling a red hot poker out of your nipple.

Why can't you let women have this ONE and just be thankful that they do?  With all the shit we have to deal with on a monthly basis; couldn't you just be like:  "Wow.  Well done.  Thanks for putting up with that!"?

And do me a favor.  If you and your partner decide to procreate, please FOR GODSAKES, do not say "We're pregnant!"  I am just warning you now, that if I hear this come out of your mouth, I will have to punch you in the nads.  Let's see how pregnant you think you feel with that pain.

How this guy ever got laid while being such an obvious douche, I will never know.

Cool Things About Being a Man

This is a real list that a friend of mine posted.  He did not write it.  He just posted it as a little ha ha! without (hopefully) thinking too much about it.  He's probably going to wish he had thought about it.  :)

Cool Things About Being a Man

(or, I spend way too much time making asinine lists and way too little time interacting with, you know, women)

1- Your ass is never a factor in a job interview.
2- Your orgasms are real. Always.
3- Your last name stays put.
4- The garage is all yours.
5- Wedding plans take care of themselves.
6- You never feel compelled to stop a friend from getting laid.
7- Car mechanics tell you the truth.
8- You don't give a rat's ass if someone notices your new haircut.
9- Hot wax never comes near your pubic area.
10- Same work, more pay.
11- Wrinkles add character.
12- You don't have to leave the room to make emergency crotch adjustments.
13- Wedding dress $2,000.00; Tux rental $100.00
14- If you retain water, it's in a canteen
15- People never glance at your chest when you're talking to them.
16- New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
17- One mood, all the damn time.
18- Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds.
19- A five-day vacation requires only 1 suitcase.
20- You can open all your own jars.
21- You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
22- Your underwear is $10.00 for a three-pack.
23- If you are 34 and single, nobody notices.
24- You can quietly enjoy a car ride from the passenger's seat.
25- Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.
26- You can quietly watch a game with your buddy for hours without ever thinking "he must be mad at me".
27- No maxi-pads.'
28- If another guy shows up at the party in the same outfit, you just might become lifelong friends.
29- You are not expected to know the names of more than five colors.
30- You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
31- You are unable to see wrinkles in clothes.
32- The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.
33- Your belly usually hides your big hips
34- One wallet and one pair of shoes, one color, all seasons.
35- You can "do" your nails with a pocketknife.
36- Christmas shopping can be accomplished for 25 relatives, on December 24th, in minutes.
37- The world is your urinal. xD

I'm not going to address every list item, just the ones I find the most disturbing/idiotic/ridiculous.

2- Your orgasms are real. Always.  Any grown assed straight woman worth her vagina stopped faking orgasms the second she met a guy that knew what the hell he was doing.  For some of us lucky enough to have met this person early on, faking was never a thing...at all.  Any woman faking for the sake of their lover's feelings needs to think about how he will feel when he realizes she is faking.  If you aren't into it at the moment and you like the guy enough, just give him a blowjob and let him go to sleep happy.  If you really don't like him AND he can't get you off, you have bigger issues and I am no psychiatrist.

3- Your last name stays put.  Hello, Sweden.

6- You never feel compelled to stop a friend from getting laid.  Mostly because if your friend is anything like you, getting laid happens about as often as an asteroid passing within 17000 miles of earth and a giant meteorite hitting Russia in the same day.

10- Same work, more pay.  Fuck you.

17- One mood, all the damn time.   I did not realize that Neanderthal was a "mood".

27- No maxi-pads.'   Seriously, Fuck you.

33- Your belly usually hides your big hips.  Wow!  Fat AND a pear shaped ass?!?!?  I'm getting hot just thinking about this guy!  ***shudder***

37- The world is your urinal. xD  Seriously?  That's all you got?  You can pee outside?  Let me tell you something, I can pee outside, too and I have on a few occasions when I've either been camping or so drunk that I really didn't think about how gross someone peeing outside is.  Unless you are five years old, find a restroom, asshole!
